the only rts that doesnt have this ( to an big extend ) is probably Total War they have a small tutorial at the start and then. it was expected to have the experience of dawn of war 1 vanilla.īut any other RTS had this tutorial like campaign dawn of war 1, Dow 2, dow 3, Supcom 1 -2, the settlers, Hell even anno got it on his own style ( no real missions just one long mission but it clearly unlocks slowly stuff and explains to you via story and more ) Wargame and more even starcraft and warcraft. Thats because winter assault was a Standalone expansion to Dawn of war 1 same for the other expansions. Yes, the original campaign is more of an extended tutorial, but in Winter Assault it was a lot like BfME in regards to tutorials and Dark Crusade and Soulstorm had practically no tutorial in the campaign, Stellaris is another example of "Here you go, now get something done" but that is more due to a lack of story.ĭawn of War 1 is similar to this. Yes, you get some tooltips in the first mission, but besides that it's mostly "Those are your options, that is your objective, we'll come back to nag you in an hour". Battle for Middle Earth is an example for that. Maybe not "Here's your stuff, Now figure it out" but more like having an extra tutorial and then have the campaign build up on this with the assumption that people had played the tutorial.
